Peak summer travel season is here!
With the joy of summer comes the inevitable challenge of dealing with heat and humidity. I am miserable when I get too sticky/sweaty in clothes that aren’t breathable. Balancing comfort with style can be tricky, but with the right clothing items, you can enjoy it without feeling the heat.
Opting for breathable, lightweight, washable fabrics can make a world of difference. Fabrics like cotton, linen, and moisture-wicking synthetics help regulate your body temperature, keeping you cool even on the hottest days. Plus, we all know I love clean laundry, and I have to be able to throw everything in the wash! I won’t buy anything that needs dry cleaning.
I’m sharing a round-up of summer travel clothes – from dresses that can be worn all day to versatile joggers, breathable tops, and stylish sneaks that can be walked in for miles.

Summer Travel Clothes
Travel Clothes for Exploring
- Crescent Crossbody – This is lightweight and roomier than a belt bag. Great for exploring a new city and stocking with a small water bottle, mini umbrella, and essentials.
- Linen Drawstring Shorts – I love linen shorts! You can dress them up or down.
- Samba Mary Janes Sneakers – wear with shorts, denim, and casual dresses. I have a friend who rocks them!
- Linen-Blend Easy Shirt – an “easy” shirt to layer on over tanks is a travel capsule wardrobe necessity. Use for chilly nights or as a beach cover-up.
- Villa Shorts – lightweight and wrinkle resistant. Love the thick waistband.
- Open-Back Crinkle Gauze Button-Down Shirt – the open back is functional for a breeze and unique.
- Double Cloth Pant – If I’m wearing pants, they can’t cling in the summer, and these are fitted by loose.
- Oversized Denim Jacket – a neutral jacket for when the AC is cranked up too high
- Travel Lite Retro Sneakers – my sister swears by these for travel, and she’s a travel agent so she would know! Mom and I each got a pair this spring. I love them.
- High Rise Joggers – these travel pants dry quickly and take up little room in your suitcase
- Alex Gauze Dress – one of my favorite dresses in my closet, easy to go from day (tennis shoes) to night (wedges!)
